Program Schedule

 

Phase One: Lectures on Youth Leadership In this phase, honored guests will be invited to deliver series of lectures. After each lecture, allthe participants should contribute their opinions with group discussion based on the contentsof the lectures. The goal of this phase is to develop Chinese and foreign students'abilities ofpublic speaking and academic research, helping them to be well prepared for the study in nextphase. Meanwhile, each team should also begin designing their specific programs, determinethe topic and approaches for the research, and then collect relative materials. We will launchthe introductory presentation for project approval on July 6th.

 

Phase Two: Collaborative Research In this phase, cooperative research approaches will be adopted to foster participants' abilityof scientific decision-making. All the participants will be divided into several groups to conductinvestigations, information collection, data analysis, and case study, etc. and finally workout a productive research report on a special topic, with regards to the conditions of localcommunities. Moreover, the findings will be shared among groups in salons, pursuing the goalsof the improvement of communication and decision-making abilities.What’s more, participants are required to present their project reports at the end of theprogram, and the most extraordinary ones will be awarded by the Program Committee.

 

Phase Three: Demonstration and Conclusion In this phase, participants will firstly draw conclusion on their projects within groups, andprepare plenty of presentation materials including videos, ppt and project reports (English& Chinese versions, both electronic and paper). All the materials should be submitted to theassigned staff no later than July 16th.On July 16th, all the participants will go to Beijing Normal University and demonstrate theirprojects to teachers and students there in BNU. A presentation competition on researchfindings of the International Youth Leadership Program will be held afterward and the mostoutstanding team will be awarded as The Best Team. After the competition, a farewell partywill be held.
